The Foothold IEP Method

  1. We use a readable IEP. You don’t want to be lost in a sea of jargon and acronyms. Actually: nobody does, no matter how many capital letters follow their name. If you’re lost in document-speak, how can you meaningfully participate?
  2. We hold twice-yearly IEP meetings. The minimum is…the minimum. Twice yearly is functional: act on data now, plan for the future. Repeat.
  3. Parents show up for special education as much as the rest of the IEP team. Not just when the IEP meeting happens.
